Eight short stories. One universe. No safe vantage point.
Requisition Volume I: Anomalous Intent is a collection of cyberpunk short fiction set inside the CHROMASPYKE™ universe, where survival is transactional, loyalty is temporary, and every system extracts a cost.
From collapsing cities to deep-space operations far from oversight, these stories follow characters caught at critical moments. A pilot learns the job may be his last. A corporate asset discovers what obedience actually costs. An idealist becomes a mouthpiece, then a liability. A survivor adapts just enough to live with what they’ve done.
Some characters resist. Others comply. Most do something in between.
There are no heroes here, only people navigating structures designed to convert, contain, and discard them. Each story stands alone, but together they reveal a universe where power does not announce itself, where systems persist by making participation feel inevitable, and where survival often means becoming something you didn’t intend to be.
Requisition Volume I: Anomalous Intent offers a cross-section of cyberpunk at different scales and angles: street-level desperation, corporate ritual, political theater, psychological fracture. The technology changes. The pressure does not.
This is dark science fiction about characters you’ll remember long after the last page, and the systems that leave marks on everyone who passes through them.
This collection serves as a definitive entry point into Alexander Mharcei's CHROMASPYKE™ universe, seen through multiple lives shaped by the same dark future.
